Animistic Sustainability
Bodies As Clothing is a multi-layered metaphor, that through the multi-sensory medium of Fashion- one of human society's most powerful cultural engineering platforms- aims to help us remember that what we do and who we are is all interconnected. An article of clothing isn't just a 'shirt', or a pair of trousers, they are all 'things that feel' and have stories of their own, from birth, to life, and finally 'death'.

Animistic cultures throughout the world operate from an understanding that all things in our physical world have consciousness and the ability to feel.
The Medium is the Message.
Bodies As Clothing is designed and produced with the inherent knowledge that all things are interconnected; from the herbal dyes that go into the fabrics, to the well-being of the people and their communities that bring the production of the medium together from farm crop to clothes, and the somatic messages and feelings created by the fit, drape, and shapes of the clothes themselves.
To see Bodies As Clothing in a post-industrial world; our bodies as our first layer of clothes, and clothes, as our second bodies, all sharing a universal energy that is life itself, is to truly understand this notion of 'sustainability'.
