Description
The Bulul is a sacred rice guardian of the Ifugao tribe in Luzon, Philippines. Traditionally carved in wood or cast in brass, it is placed around rice fields to ward off negative energies and protect the harvest. In this piece, the Bulul is depicted in a 'dancing' position, symbolizing fertility, protection, and active spiritual harmony—an energy believed to ensure bountiful crops and ward off harm. The brass pendant is inspired by one of the last remaining ceremonial Bululs, with permission from the Ifugao to help preserve their culture.
15% of proceeds support Culturaid Philippines to empower the Ifugao community.
